Obituary of Claude E. Gallagher

Claude E. Gallagher Claude E. Gallagher, 72, of New Hamburg entered into rest on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie from complications of diabetes. Born on January 8, 1933 in New Hamburg, he was the youngest of six children born to loving parents Frank and Gertrude Gallagher. Claude was a lifelong resident of New Hamburg and a life member of New Hamburg Fire Department. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He retired from Lone Star Industries, Inc. after 25 years as an explosives expert. Claude is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laura in 1999; his sister, Ruth Seifts in 1988; and his brother, Bill Gallagher in 1959. He is survived by his three daughters, Peggy Beneway of Clinton Corners, Mary Gallagher of Maryland and Jane Spezzo of Poughkeepsie; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his brother, Frank Gallagher, Jr. of Florida; and two sisters, Luella Henderson of Virginia and Betty Connolly of Vermont. Claude's remains will be inurned next to his wife, Laura, at Poughkeepsie Rural Community Mausoleum, South Road, Poughkeepsie.
