Obituary of Lillian M. Parziale

Lillian M. Parziale Lillian M. Parziale, a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest Friday, October 23, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 82. Daughter of the late Ignatio and Maria Bongiorno Macluso, she was born August 29, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts. She attended the Boston Conservatory. On May 10, 1953 at St. Leonard's Church, Boston, Massachusetts she married Ernest V. Parziale. Mr. Parziale survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a Teacher's Aide in the Special Education Department of Wappingers Central School District. Lillian was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls. She was a former member of the IBM Chorus. In her younger years, she was a semi-professional opera singer. Most important to her were her children. After her own five children grew up her students became her other children. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Diana Parziale and her companion, Phil Dubuque of Melrose, Massachusetts, Lydia Parziale of Fishkill, Mark Parziale of Stamford, Connecticut, James Parziale and his companion, Paul Camire of Malden, Massachusetts and Carl Parziale and his wife, Carrie of Charlotte, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Christopher and Lisa Terrat and Tyler, Gracyn and Kaitlyn Parziale and many niece and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anna DeRosa and Josephine Femino. Family will receive their friends on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, October 25 and Monday, October 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Lillian's name may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 5 Computer Drive West, Suite 100, Albany, NY 12205 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
