Obituary of Anne Panson
Three weeks shy of her 90th birthday, Anne Panson passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 4, 2014 at Elant at Goshen. Anne and her husband Paul had been longtime residents of Wappingers Falls before moving to Elant at Goshen in 2012. They moved to Wappingers Falls in the summer of 1962 to a new community called Lake Oniad, where they raised their four children. Anne was active in the community, including Coterie and Zion Episcopal Church. She and Paul enjoyed travelling and entertaining friends at their home.
Anne was born to Waisyl Mysluchik and Katherine Yarko Mysluchik on November 24, 1924 in Auburn, New York.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Paul Panson of Goshen; daughter, Deborah Schwartz and husband, Ted of Hopewell Junction; daughter, Christine Panson of Poughkeepsie; son, Richard Panson of New York, NY; daughter, Linda King and husband, Jeff of North Andover, MA; grandson, Richard Panson and wife, Sara Jane of Ballwin, MO; grandson, Kevin Steele of Hopewell Junction; granddaughter, Kelsey Steele of Hopewell Junction; sister, Helen Pasternak of Estero, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Olga "Ollie" McNamara.
Anne was one of the extraordinary, ordinary heroes of the world; those that cultivate a meaningful life in their everyday encounters with those around them. She did it with a kind word, smile or kind gesture. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend to all who knew her.
To honor her memory and celebrate her life, family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Zion Episcopal Church, 12 Satterlee Place in Wappingers Falls. Inurnment will follow in the columbarium at Zion Episcopal Church.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Elant at Goshen for all the kindness and compassion shown to Anne and Paul.
