Obituary of Karen L. Kaelin

Karen L. Kaelin Karen L. Kaelin, a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest Saturday, October 24, 2009 at River Valley Care Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 74. Daughter of the late Paul and Marguerite Smith Keast, she was born May 30, 1935 in Queens. She was married to Richard J. Kaelin. Mr. Kaelin preceded her in death on January 7, 1989. Prior to her retirement, she was a clerk with the New York State Department of Corrections at Fishkill Correctional Facility. Survivors include her four sons, Richard F. Kaelin and his wife, Danielle Masterson of Wappingers Falls, Robert D. Kaelin and his wife, Cathy of Westtown, New York, John C. Muller and his wife, Linda of Harpersfield, New York and Steven E. Muller of Middle Island, New York; and her grandchildren, Jamie Lynne Muller, Jeston Muller, Christopher Muller, Brianna Masterson, Devin Louden and Ty Kaelin. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan Andres. Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main St., Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 29 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
