Obituary of Geraldine F. Messerich

Geraldine F. Messerich Geraldine F. Messerich, a forty-nine year resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of Beacon, entered into rest Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Elant at Wappingers Falls. She was 74. Daughter of the late George Clifford and Hermine Wright Knapp, she was born June 5, 1935 in Beacon. She married Harold Clarence Messerich on June 29, 1958 at the First Presbyterian Church, Beacon. Mr. Messerich, who worked at Beacon Nets and IBM Tape Library, survives at home in Wappingers Falls. She worked at Kartingers Hat Shop in Beacon. She was involved with Girl Scouts in Beacon; Rebekah Lodge, Beacon, the Dutchess Inter Faith Council Choir Group and Hudson Valley Music Theater. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wappingers Falls and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church, Beacon. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Timothy George and Jeffrey Clark Messerich, both of Wappingers Falls. Family will receive their friends on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 31 at First Presbyterian Church, South Avenue, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in the family plot in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
