Obituary of Thomasina Deluca

Thomasina "May" DeLuca Thomasina "May" DeLuca, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest, Saturday, December 12, 2009 at her home. She was 92. Daughter of the late Bruno and Raffaela Drago Gagliardi she was born September 12, 1917 in Brooklyn. On June 29, 1940 in Brooklyn, she married Salvatore E. DeLuca. Mr. DeLuca preceded her in death on April 24, 1988. Prior to raising her family she worked as a seamstress in Brooklyn. May attended St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls. Most importantly, she was much loved by her family and friends. Survivors include her sons, Frank DeLuca of Hunter, New York and Tom DeLuca and his wife, Kathleen of Warwick, New York; her sisters, Yolanda Clidas of Wappingers Falls and Florence Abuiso of Long Island; her four grandchildren, Frank, David, Danielle and Tommy as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Rose, Mary, Jay and Ida. Family will receive their friends on Monday, December 14, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, December 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
