Hugo V. Cordiano
Hugo V. Cordiano entered into rest, Friday, December 11, 2009 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. He was 98.
Son of the late Nicholas and Assunta Ciccatelli, he was born June 13, 1911 in Brooklyn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wives, Helen Muriel Mueller, who was the mother of his children, in 1963 and Rosalee Salyers in 2005 as well as his twelve brothers and sisters.
Hugo was a Mechanical Engineer with the United States Navy at the Brooklyn Navy Yards and later at Annapolis. Maryland where he was also an instructor at the Naval Academy.
He is survived by his children, Jean Marie Hughes and her husband, Robert of Lakewood, New Jersey, Richard Alan Cordiano of Moosic, Pennsylvania, John Joseph Cordiano of Secaucus, New Jersey, Helen Kathryn Cordiano of Poughkeepsie and Kathleen Lombardo and her husband, Pasquale of Poughkeepsie; his wife Rosalee's children, Donna Weess, Jeffrey Musheno and Dennis Musheno; nineteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 13, 2009 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 14 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations on Hugo's behalf may be made the Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
