Obituary of Frank Augugliaro

Frank Augugliaro Frank Augugliaro, a resident of the Village of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Monday, April 12, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. He was 82. Son of the late Joseph and Anna Fazzio Augugliaro, he was born May 16, 1927 in Brooklyn. He married the love of his life, Rosemarie, on April 15, 1950 in St. Fortunata's Church, Brooklyn. Mrs. Augugliaro preceded him in death on November 30, 1982. Frank was a glass blower by trade. He retired from Stern's as a laborer in Long Island City. He was active with the Wappingers Falls Senior Citizen Center. Frank enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of his fig tree. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball; the Jets and the Mets. Most importantly, his family came first to him. He will be deeply missed by his daughters and grandchildren. Survivors include his two daughters, Joanna Augugliaro and her domestic partner, Maureen Brown of New Hamburg and Frances Scavone and her husband, Joseph of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, James A. Murphy, Francis P. Murphy and Heather R. Murphy; his sister, Josephine Chase of Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 15 at. St. Columba Church, Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frank's name to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
