Annie Rose
Annie Rose of Wappingers Falls entered into eternal rest Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 89.
Daughter of the late John and Jane Anglas Walsh, she was born on June 13, 1921 in Carlow, Ireland. She married the love of her life, Patrick Rose on August 20, 1946 in Ireland; Mr. Rose preceded her in death, passing on November 9, 1997.
Mrs. Rose spent her years making a warm and loving home for her husband and eight children. In her spare time, she loved to read. Most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her sons, William Rose and his wife, Anita of Fishkill, James Rose and his wife, Margaret of Wappingers Falls, and Patrick Rose and his wife, Geraldine of Indiana; her daughters, Mary Jeanne Altieri and her husband, Joseph of Pouquag, Caroline Turner and her husband, Gene of Wappingers Falls, Anne Rose and her husband, William Radtke of Brooklyn, and Doreen Mueller and her husband, Gregory of Tuxedo; daughter-in-law, Susan Rose of Wappingers Falls; sister, Margaret Mitchell of Ireland; grandchildren, Eugene, Erin, Tara, Michael, Joseph, Sean, Kelly, Gene, Michelle, Sabrina, Jamie, Patrick, Edward, Maureen, Kaitlynne and Kassondra; great-grandchildren, Emmi, Ally, Julia, Jonas, Claire, Zachary and Lily; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, John Rose, and several brothers and sisters.
Family will receive their friends and family on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 23 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Jackson Street in Fishkill. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Fishkill.
