Obituary of Theresa M. Kane

Theresa M. Kane Theresa M. Kane died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Born in the Bronx on December 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Logan Kane. She attended Holy Family School and Aquinas High School. She later moved to Manhattan where she resided until her passing. Theresa was employed for over thirty years by Equitable Life Assurance Company and later for the International Herald Tribune. Theresa was a devout Roman Catholic all her life and her strong faith served her well in her final days. A loving sister, godmother, aunt and great-aunt she is survived by her brother, Raymond J. Kane of Wappingers Falls; her nephew, Kevin Kane and his wife, Adrienne of Poughkeepsie; her niece Elizabeth Kane Leahy and her husband, Dennis of Maybrook; her niece, Margaret Kane and Jason Predmore of Monroe, New York and her niece, Mary Kane Hooker and husband, Mel of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She is also survived by her great-niece and great-nephews, Kristopher Kane, and Sean, Alyssa and Dylan Leahy. She will be greatly missed by her childhood friend, Olga Stefanic. She was predeceased by her sisters, Peggy and Catherine and her brother, John. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, October 29 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Inurnment will be in the family plot in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
