Obituary of Patrick J. Moriarty

Patrick J. Moriarty Patrick J. Moriarty, a 35 year resident of the Town of Wappinger and formerly of the Bronx, New York, entered into rest Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 69. Son of the late Patrick and Mae Dennehy Moriarty, he was born April 16, 1941 in the Bronx. He married the former Catherine Leath on August 24, 1963 in the Bronx. Mrs. Moriarty survives at home. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Con Edison in Westchester County for 42 years. Patrick was a member of the Elks in Wappingers Falls and the Knights of Columbus in Wappingers Falls. He was also a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Catherine M. Moriarty of Newburgh, Patrick J. Moriarty and his wife, Michelle of Denver, Colorado, James M. Moriarty and his wife, Kristy of Ridgefield, Connecticut, and Margaret Payette of Las Vegas, Nevada; his brother, Michael Moriarty and his wife, Ginger of Great Falls, Virginia; his sister, Eileen Coyle of Queens; his grandchildren, Cassidy, Brendan, Patrick, Austin, Justin, Dustin "D.J.", and Makayla. Family will receive their friends on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 25 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
