Obituary of Bernard J. Zablocki

Bernard J. Zablocki Bernard J. Zablocki of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Sunday, November 21, 2010 at River Valley Care Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 70. Son of the late Bernard and Martha Kozlowski Zablocki, he was born on October 27, 1940 in New York City. He married the love of his life, Loretta "Blue" Young on August 30, 1964 at Sacred Heart Church in Manhattan; Mrs. Zablocki survives at home. Bernard worked as an installer for Lucent Technologies in New York City for many years. He was a member of the Wappingers Falls Knights of Columbus, Council 1646. He was also a longtime parishioner and Eucharistic Minister for St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. In addition to his wife, Bernard is survived by his children, James R. Zablocki of Wappingers Falls, Laurieann Washington of Los Angeles, CA, Mark A. Zablocki of Colorado Springs, CO, and Paul B. Zablocki and his wife, Gretchen of Talbott, TN; brother, Raymond Zablocki and his wife, Carol Jane of Pennsylvania; sister, Victoria Bitar of New Jersey; grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Nicholas, Quinn, Brandon, Brooklyn and Braiden; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia DelGrosso. Family will receive their friends on Friday, November 26, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, November 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.
