Mary Petryszak
Mary "Baba" Petryszak, a fifteen year resident of Rochester where she lived with her daughter, Mary and grandchildren Christina and Rebecca and former longtime Poughkeepsie resident, entered into eternal rest in Christ on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Unity Hospital in Rochester, New York. She was 94.
Daughter of the late John and Eva Bizahunich Biszick, she was born September 4, 1916 in Central City, Pennsylvania. She married Michael Petryszak who preceded her in death in 1995.
She was owner of M and M Coffee Shoppe in Poughkeepsie for many years. Mary was a former parishioner of St. Gregory Orthodox Church in Wappingers Falls. She had a love of being with her family, coffee, reading, buying gadgets and Ralphie.
Survivors include her children, Matthew Petryszak and his wife Karen, Michael Petryszak, Jr. and his wife, Connie and Mary Smith; her sister, Sonja Rider; her brother, Michael Biszick; her grandchildren, Christina, Rebecca, Andrew, Kathy, Karen and Jimmy and her four great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Gregory Orthodox Church, 1500 Route 376, Wappingers Falls, New York.
A funeral service will be held at 9: 30 a.m. on Saturday, March 5 at the church. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park.
