Sharon and Martin Schwartz - Long-Lasting Ice Skating Friends posted a condolence
Tuesday, January 3, 2012
Dear Ann,
Thank you for the Christmas card. On behalf of our entire family, please accept our sincerest condolences. John was our nicest and dearest friend in our skating world. He will forever remain in our hearts and close to the ice as we skate at Bear Mt. and Darien. We will always remember his kindness, gentle demeanor, wonderful family stories (he was so proud of you, the places you both went, your children & theirs), and of course, his nice smile accompanied by his simple hello and goodbye wave. Please stay in touch.

Ann, Mildred and I are so sad to hear of John's passing. We are so glad for the time that we visited you two. We both send our love and prayers this time of your loss and thankfulness for all the years past we had the priviledge of visiting one and other. I called Dorothy Holte and Tom Coburn. Just got the latest Lincoln Totem and read John's last letter to them which they published. Spoke with Clint Rost who said he knew you. Best Love to you dear Ann Ron & Mildred

Dear Christopher Family: It was a joy to know your husband/father. I spent a number of years working with him through the Dutchess County Special Olympics. He was a kind and caring man and the Special Olympians that he worked with through swimming and Track & Field are better people having known John. Although I haven't seen John for a number of years, I am glad he passed through my life. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Ann, My deepest sympathy on the loss of John; what a treasure he was! At Zion, he was always involved and interested in so many things that pertained to the Lord. I remember how helpful he was with the book sorting! His smile was so sweet and that will be something I will miss.
