Obituary of Vincent J. Petriano

Vincent J. Petriano Vincent J. Petriano, a resident of Dutchess County and formerly of Brooklyn, entered into rest May 4, 2011 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie. He was 83. Son of Margaret Guglielmotti Petriano and the late Michael Petriano, he was born on October 16, 1927 in Brooklyn. Vincent served his country in the United States Navy being honorably discharged in 1948, earning commendations such as the Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal. He owned and operated U.D. Dimensions in Hopewell Junction. Vincent had also taught at Dutchess Community College. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Mother of the Church, Fishkill and a former member of the Rotary Club. In addition to his mother, Margaret Guglielmotti Petriano of Beacon, he is survived by his friend, Suzan Meusel of Poughkeepsie; daughter, Margaret M. Oliva of Wappingers Falls; sons, Michael J. Petriano and Roxann Povermo-Petriano of Dobbs Ferry, Vincent J. Petriano, Jr. of Monroe, MI, and Richard Petriano of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Nicholas R. Oliva, Anthony L. Oliva, Marissa Petriano, Michael J. Petriano, Jr., Addie M. Petriano and Amanda M. Petriano; and great-granddaughter, Isabella T. Oliva. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson Street in Fishkill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Vincent's name to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 11 Marshall Road, Suite 1H, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
