Obituary of Mary Lou Greer McGregor Dennis

Mary Lou Greer McGroger Dennis Mary Lou Greer McGregor Dennis, a lifelong resident of Chelsea, died August 2, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 70. She was born in Kingston, New York on July 21, 1941 to the late Paul and Cornelia Fay Greer. Mary Lou's greatest love was her family especially her grandchildren. They were truly the joys of her life. She is survived by her sons, Scott McGregor and wife, Tracy of Highland Mills, NY, Bruce McGregor and wife, Deanna of Liverpool, NY, and David McGregor and wife, Diane of Chelsea; her daughter, Lisa Sone and husband, Elvin of West Hartford, CT; her step-children, Stephen Dennis of Shawnee, KS, Wayne Dennis and wife, Elizabeth of Eudora, KS, Lynn Porter and husband, Stephen of Bradford, NH, Dee Delponte and husband, John of Apex, NC and Craig Dennis and wife, Marla of Voorheesville, NY; her sister, Paula Pietropolo and husband, Frank of Chelsea; her ten grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Bruce McGregor in 1985, her second husband, Charles Dennis in 2008 and her siblings, Lois Belding, Joan Greer and James Greer. Per her request, no formal funeral will be held. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Mary Lou's life at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2011 at Sportsman Lodge in Chelsea. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
