Obituary of Kathleen A. O'Keefe

Kathleen A. O'Keefe Kathleen A. O'Keefe of the Town of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at home with her family. She was 57. Daughter of the late Linton and Mary Gee Ginther, she was born on February 19, 1948 in Brooklyn. Kathleen worked as a registered nurse for many years for Westchester Medical College in Valhalla; her main service was in helping HIV and AIDS patients. She formerly volunteered her time as a Girl Scout Leader in New York City and as a volunteer for the Queens Village Ambulance Corp. Besides her loving husband, Thomas, she is survived by her daughters, Ellen Wawryk and her husband, Mike and Lynn Moulton and her husband, Ron; stepchildren, Maureen DeMarco and Elaine Hargous; brother and god-son, Daniel Ginther and his wife, Theresa; brothers, Linton Ginther and his wife, Linda, James Ginther and his wife, Jeanne, Richard Ginther and his wife, Agatha and John Ginther; sisters, Mary Bisignano and her husband, Frank, and Ellen Francis and her husband, Stephen; grandchildren, Matthew, Thaddeus, Patrick and Michaela Wawryk, and Brandon and Jessica Moulton; 18 nieces and nephews; two grandnephews; and her beloved dog Daisy. She is predeceased by her brother, Edward Ginther. Family will receive their friends on Thursday, July 21 and Friday, July 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday, July 23 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. Cremation will follow in the Poughkeepsie Rural Crematory.
