Obituary of Alan Rothschild

Alan Rothschild Alan Rothschild of Wappingers Falls, died January 7, 2007 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie of respiratory failure. He was 71. Alan was born Oct 11, 1935, in Bronx, NY, to the late Melvin and Rebecca Rothschild. He was a stepson to Norman Rothschild. He graduated from James Monroe High School in June of 1953. Alan served in the U. S. Navy from 1956 to 1960. On February 20, 1965 he married Freda Hamill. Alan and Freda resided in Wappingers Falls. He retired in 1998 from a long career in the auto industry and pursued his various hobbies. Alan was a member of the Spring Valley Rotary where he served a term as club president. He was also a member of the Rockland County Police Chief's foundation and the American Legion. Alan is survived by wife, Freda, his daughter Karen Tatta; his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Paul Kolor; his daughter Tina Rothschild; five grandchildren, Morgan Gurnett, Mark Kolor, Clayton Gurnett, Lauren Kolor, Samantha Tatta; sister in law and brother in law, Edna and Doug Oldham. Alan is further survived by other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, 2007 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at Straub Funeral Home located at 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday January 9, 2007 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
