Obituary of Nancy Anne Varas

Nancy Anne Varas Nancy Anne Varas of Port Saint Lucie, Florida and formerly of the Bronx, entered into rest Saturday, February 10, 2007 in Goshen. She was 66. Daughter of the late William and Mary Gallagher Meyer, she was born August 17, 1940 in the Bronx. She attended and graduated from St. Simon Stock School in the Bronx. She was also a former parishioner of St. Simon Stock Church. Prior to her retirement, Nancy was a bookkeeper. She also enjoyed her time at Mohegan Sun Casino. Survivors include her children, Robert Varas and his companion, Eva Roman of New Windsor, Edmund Varas and his companion, Megan Edgeworth of Wappingers Falls, Kelley Quinn and her husband, Robert of New Windsor and Michelle Clogston and her husband, Jeff of South Carolina; her brother, William Meyer and his wife, Donna of Chester; her sisters, Joan McKenna of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Virginia Butts and her husband, William of Chester and Connie McIntyre and her husband, James of Seaside, New Jersey; her five grandchildren, Lisa, Jeffrey, Declan, Casey and Taylor; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Turissini. Family will receive their friends on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, February 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
