Obituary of Joseph P. Molloy

Joseph Patrick Molloy Joseph Patrick Molloy, a resident of the City of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest, Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 77. Son of the late James and Katherine Gallagher Molloy, he was born December 29, 1929 in New York City. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He served in Korea where he was with the Army Engineers. On October 1, 1954, he married the former Patricia Hannigan in St. Francis of Assisi Church in the Bronx. Mrs. Molloy survives at home. Prior to his retirement, Joe owned and operated Able Fence Company in Hopewell Junction. In addition to his wife of fifty-two years, Patricia Molloy, he is survived by his children, James Molloy and his wife, Mary of Salt Point, Jodi Lubba of Albion, New York and Daniel Molloy of Wappingers Falls; his sister, Theresa McLaughlin of Warwick, New Jersey; his eight grandchildren, Connor, Allyson, Dillon, Daniel, Nathan, Madyson, Ryan and Sean; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Monday, March 5 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Entombment will follow in the Poughkeepsie Rural Community Mausoleum, South Avenue, Poughkeepsie.
