Obituary of Helen T. Byrne

Helen T. Byrne Helen T. Byrne, a longtime resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 76. Daughter of the late James J. and Agnes Brady Cummings, Sr., she was born January 16, 1931 in Manhattan. On September 12, 1953 she married Thomas M. Byrne in Manhattan. Mr. Byrne preceded her in death on March 30, 1987. Helen was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls. Survivors include her children, MaryEllen Byrne of Wappingers Falls and Thomas G. Byrne of Wappingers Falls; her grandson, Steven T. Byrne of Wappingers Falls and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, James J. Cummings, Jr. and Theodore F. Cummings and her sister, Mary E. Cummings. Family will receive their friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, April 4 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
