Obituary of Ruth E. Van Buren

Ruth E. Van Buren Ruth E. Van Buren, a lifelong resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at home surrounded by her family. She was 84. Daughter of the late Frank and Helen Stalter Phillips, she was born on August 13, 1922 in Wappingers Falls. She married the love of her life, Ralph F. Van Buren on June 28, 1942 in Wappingers Falls; they were to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary next month. Mr. Van Buren survives at home. Ruth was a communicant of Reformed Church of Beacon. She lived and loved life to the fullest. In addition to her husband, Ralph, she is survived by her daughter, Judy Sneyd and her husband, William; her sisters, Helen Palazzo, Katherine Hartnett, Shirley Joyce and Gloria Morse and her husband, Jayson, all of Wappingers Falls; her brother, Francis Phillips and his wife, Maxine of Springfield, Ill.; grandchildren, Tara Sneyd and Darby Sneyd of Wappingers Falls; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brianna and Alexus Sneyd; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 25 at 3 p.m. at the family plot in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Route 9D in Wappingers Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ruth's name to Hospice of Dutchess County, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
