Obituary of Clare V. Hackett

Clare V. Hackett Clare V. Hackett, a resident of Wappingers Falls for six years and formerly of Jupiter, Fl. entered into rest on Friday, July 6, 2007 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 86. Daughter of the late Thomas and Viola Kelly Leonard, she was born on December 19, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY. She married James F. Hackett in 1943 who preceded her in death. Clare retired from Readers Digest, in Pleasantville, NY where she was employed as an office worker. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith. Clare was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going to her grandchildren's games. During her 20 years in Jupiter, Fl., Clare volunteered as a pink lady at Jupiter Medical Center. Survivors include her sons, Stephen Hackett of Fairfield, Ct., Kenneth Hackett and his wife, Joanne of Saratoga Springs, NY and Thomas Hackett and his wife, Jane of Phoenix, AZ; her daughter, Kathleen Boccagna and her husband, Stephen of Wappingers Falls, NY, her sister, Catherine Kapp and her husband, Philip of Silver Springs, MD and her eight grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sisters, Virginia Zeitler and Ruth Newman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
