Obituary of Cornelia E. Cardus

Cornelia E. "Neila" (Denecke) Cardus died peacefully in her home on January 24, 2015 in Millbrook, NY at the age of 66. Neila is survived by her children Alyssa Cardus, of Millbrook, NY, Michael Cardus, his wife Christine Cardus, and her grandchildren Lillian and Elliott Cardus, of Buffalo, NY. She is preceded in death by her husband James Cardus, of Millbrook, NY, her mother Eileen Carman, of Copake Falls, NY, and her father, Walter Denecke, of Copake Falls, NY. Neila was born on May 23, 1948. She was very committed to her position as Regional Coordinator of Public Employees Federation, she retired after 32 years. Afterwards, she spent most of her time reading, and enjoying retirement life. Calling hours will be at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY, 12590, on Thursday, January 29th from 5pm-9pm. The funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, January 30th at the funeral home. A reception will follow at Coppola's on 9, 568 South Road, Poughkeepsie, NY, 12601, all are welcome to attend and celebrate Neila's life.
