Obituary of John Carlo Minunni

John Carlo Minunni, Sr. John Carlo Minunni, Sr. entered into rest, Sunday November 30, 2008 at his home. He was 80. He was a native of Staten Island, and attended McKey High School, Staten Island. John proudly served his country in Korea. He was a merchant seaman, sailing for Standard Oil. He went on to work for Jersey Central and Consolidated Edison where he worked for thirty-five years before retiring in 1990. In 2000 he moved with his wife to Pennsylvania. He was a member of the VFW Post 531 in Honesdale, Pennsylvania and the American Legion Post 0186 in Spring Hill, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Ida (nee Diaz); his four sons, John Jr., Robert, James and Ronald; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; his brothers, Louis and Vito Minunni and his sister, Frances Pepe. Family will receive their friends on Thursday, December 4, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, December 5 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 6 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Wappingers Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's name to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd., Hudson, FL 34667-2460.
