Obituary of Donald D. Cvijanovich

Donald D. Cvijanovich Donald D. Cvijanovich of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Wednesday, September 22, 2010. He was 47. Son of Momchilo and Lois Kanski Cvijanovich, he was born on May 31, 1963 in Hempstead, New York. Donald was a graduate of John Jay High School in 1981 and later earned his degree in HVAC from SUNY Delhi in 1985. He worked for IBM for 23 years. Donald was also a personal trainer; he was a representative of the Isagenix Corporation and enjoyed helping others achieve the best in themselves. He bicycled across the United States in support of the American Lung Association. In his spare time, he volunteered for the John Flowers Organization. He was also the director and coach of the LaGrange Basketball League. Donald loved coaching and his charismatic personality touched everyone that he encountered; he will be missed by all who have had the pleasure of making his acquaintance. Survivors include his mother, Lois Cvijanovich of Wappingers Falls; his father, Momchilo Cvijanovich of Manassas, VA; wife, Denise M. Cvijanovich of Poughkeepsie; daughters, Jennifer Villa and her husband, Steve of North Brunswick, NJ, and Meghan and Kaitlyn Cvijanovich of Poughkeepsie; sister, Sue Serino and her husband, Mark and their son Anthony of Hyde Park; brother, Steven Cvijanovich and his wife, Miette and their children, Brock, Bronson and Karinna of Chappaqua; brother, Dragutin Cvijanovich of Manassas, VA; granddaughter, Gianna Villa; and aunt, Anne Colontuono and her husband, Tony of the Bronx. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Norton and Florence Kanski, and Dragutin and Vasilija Cvijanovich. Family will receive their friends on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will follow visitation at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
