I am extremely upset I had not learned about Larry till now. I no longer attend westchester community college but I you were ever ask me about it the only
Memories I would have would be with Larry in his classroom. He was an amazing mentor and truly cared about his students. I was mediocre student but I would look forward to class with Larry, he had such a fun, light hearted attitude that just made you want to
Make him proud. I apologize for the late memory, but there is no way I could not leave him a little note knowing he's truly missed. His fun stories regarding his family made me feel like I was a part of his family. My condolences go out to his family, he made a lasting impact on my life that I'll never forget.

I apologize for the lapse of time before having written this, I've mostly been in denial. I had the pleasure to get to know Mr. Gambino last semester. He was truly the best professor I have had at Dutchess; always so caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. He really pushed me to do my best, and encouraged me to work on many things in my life that I had been having trouble with. Unfortunately, there are not many people as incredible as Mr. Gambino in this world, I'm just so very honored to have had the privilege to know him for the short while that I did. He was an incredibly wonderful man and was always sincerely concerned for every one of his students. I think of him always when I'm at a loss of what to do. My condolences to his family, and I hope you can find some peace in knowing that he touched so many lives.

I'm so saddened to hear of Mr.Gambino's passing. I feel the same way as most (if not all) of his students; he was so much more than just a professor. His passion for educating and his caring, witty personality made each class worth attending. He was always encouraging everyone to strive for their best and to "keep their oars in the water".
While I had him as a professor, I was going through some things in my life and I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue with school. It was his encouraging words to me one day before class that made me stay. Just knowing that he saw my potential at a time when I didn't changed my outlook completely, and I'm forever grateful for that.
My condolences go out to his family, friends, and students during this difficult time. God bless.

To say Mr. Gambino was a wonderful presence in the life of everyone he knew would barely begin to do him justice. When I first heard the news I thought if I ignored the truth it would not be true; however, when your classmates and faculty are mourning such a tremendous loss, it eventually reaches you. It is not something you can hide from and after thinking it through the question that presented itself was, How can a man I have known for ten months, take a little piece of me with him? In truth, Mr. Gambino did not take any pieces with him but he gave a little piece of himself to all those who cared about him. He gave bits of knowledge and tons of love. In a sense, it is as if he is still alive because his spirit lives within all of us. I will think of him whenever I watch Monster's Inc., I will hear him say You can do anything even when I believe I cannot, and I will see him in the audience at graduation. Even though he claimed that I would be famous one day and forget about himit is the one statement he told me that is disagreeable. I will never forget such an amazing individual and I know neither will anyone else. We were all blessed to have had him in our lives, whether for a semester or since birth. I am absolutely grateful to have had him as a teacher and a friend. My prayers are with his family to help them through this hardship, but I hope the memories he created will shine through what seems like darkness; much like how Mr. Gambino brightened his students' days. I know Mr. Gambino is continuing to look after every one of us and although it is okay to cry, he would not want to see anyone sad; he never did. To the students who are continuing his classes: push on through and excel because it is what he would have wanted and what he knew could be accomplished by everyone.

From the minute I met Mr. Gambino I knew he was a good man. He was the type to bring the energy in a room up instantly. Shaking everyones hand in the beginning of every class, saying "good afternoon class" everyday even though it was a morning class just to get a chuckle out of everyone. He would always talk about his grandson who is his best friend and they'd go to the games together and show us pictures, and it saddens me that he wont get to grow up more with such an amazing grandfather, but he shouldn't ever forget how much he loved him. Honestly, Mr. Gambino was the reason I woke up every morning to go to class, it was a class to look forward to and I am sure I am not the only student who thought that. There was not a day where I would come home and not tell my mom what a good class his was. I will never forget the last conversation we had that tuesday morning he was telling me how proud he was of me for doing so well in the class, and i will take those words with me on my career journey and i will make him proud of me, even if its from up above. My prayers go out to the family, I can't imagine how hard this must be for you all. He had such a big impact on all his students, I can only imagine his impact on his family.

Hearing about Mr. Gambino's passing was devastating. I would like to send my condolences, I have only known Mr. Gambino for the semester and in that short time he has made such an impact on my life. Mr. Gambino was an inspiring person, he's become one of my role models and I will never forget his kindness, or his words of encouragement, pushing me to strive for that 4.0. Having a faculty member believe in me that much has really helped me. Mr. Gambino was an extraordinary person, he cared about everyone. I would like his family and close friends to know, that even if each one of his students did not attend the wake, or send their condolences, Mr. Gambino impacted everyone. I don't think myself, or anyone else could ever forget how he would shake everyone's hand in the beginning of class, ask everyone how their day has been, offer advice, encouragement, or even just listening, that sincere gesture showing me that someone genuinely cared meant so much, and would sometimes make my day. Mr. Gambino has made me want to become a better person just as he was. I really hope it helps everyone close to him to know how important he was to me and my classmates, and how he'll always be remembered. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have known such a great man, and I will always think of Mr. Gambino every time I shake someone's hand. God bless

I had Mr. Gambino as my professor when I was in a really confusing time of my life. He changed everything for me, not only did he help me get into Marist College, but he gave me the confidence to do what I wanted to do with my future. I can't thank him enough and I am glad I got to tell him how much he had helped me. My condolences go out to his family, and they are all in my prayers every night. I just wanted to let them know the impact he had on my life and that I will never forget him.

I had the pleasure to meet Mr. Gambino a few semesters back at DCC. He without a doubt was the best professor there and his knowledge and wonderful personality made him one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He showed a mutual respect to everyone he educated, and had a genuine concern about everyone's success. I kept in touch for a few semesters and started tutoring for him and he was never short of a wonderful compliment or positive comment.
As he learned I had a young daughter him and I found one more thing to talk about besides school and business; family! He absolutely adored his grandson who must be about 2 years old now, was very proud of his children, one whom he mentioned coached for Boston College, and loved his wife and everyone else. All these reasons made me cry at the news of his passing and the first comment I made was, "I just feel so bad for his family because he loved them so much."
I emailed him about a month ago to see if he was interested in doing a networking fair because he would just be the perfect candidate for such an event. In the email I praised him, updated him, thanked him. I never got a response, not sure he ever read the email but I am glad something made me think to send the message even though a year or so had passed. I could go on & on as I already have but I just have such a heavy heart and am so sorry to all the family and friends! You're in my prayers and thoughts. God bless!

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I am an older student in one of Mr. Gambino's classes at DCC this semester. Each week my admiration for him, both as a teacher - for his knowledge of the material, his organization, and his enthusiastic presentation of the lessons, and as a fellow human being - for his genuine interest, concern and compassion for each of his students, has grown. I am sure any of his students will tell you the same. He is without question, one of the best teachers at DCC, and the college and his students have been lucky to have had the opportunity to get to know and learn from him. One thing I would also like to share with you is that hardly a class went by that he did not mention how he loved being with and spending time with his family. Each time he would tell a story about some activity or event shared with one or another family member, his eyes would sparkle with happiness and the obvious love of his family.
May you find peace and warmth in knowing that his time spent on this earth inspired, educated, and brightened the hearts of many, not just of those you may know or have met, but of those whose lives he touched through work, teaching, his passion for sports, his interest in people and business, and even those with whom he might have had just a brief conversation, because his passion for people and life came through clearly from the moment he started talking.
