To Judy, Emily, Lexie & Kendra & to the rest of the Lyons family,
I'd like to express my sincere and deepest condolences at this very difficult time on the loss of a wonderful husband, father & grandfather. I know he will be greatly missed by everyone that his life has touched. Time stands still when a loved one passes as waves of grief wash over you. I remember the feeling well after my own father passed in 2006. Although I didn't know him as well as my son Josh did, I know he was a good man, a special man who gave so much of himself to the 4H program and mentored all the kids, not just "his own" but ALL of "his kids". He leaves behind a beautiful legacy ... which any man would be proud of... He will always be with us and we have been blessed to have known him. Much Love & comfort being sent your way.
Lisa & Ariana Parkinson

I couldn't imagine being back in New York, in that room with Emily and friends and family of Dave. I have found myself these last few days, my eyes welling up with tears, in places that have called into question my very stability. The garage getting new tires or a crowded mens restroom among them. But in silence, alone and, in the darkness of the night is where I have left the most tears. Talking with God and, calling into question once again, why he keeps taking the men from my life who mean the most. Men who were unwilling to see me as most did. Incomparable men who, in their own unique way, played a role in shaping my life.
I was blessed...simply, blessed. To have known Dave was to know a man who found things on this earth that gave him the type of joy that most spend a lifetime and die trying to find. Dave had a collection of bikes that American Pickers should have been told about years ago, and he had scooters that I laugh remembering him on -- it was helmet and that beard. He had t-shirts and hats that provided a wearable story about damn near everything Dave had ever done or every place he had ever gone. He owned enough things in the color orange, that if piled up, might be visible from space. The list goes on...
Dave taught me that it was ok to be misunderstood. He was brilliant and beautiful and wise. I loved him like a father and his children are lucky to have learned and been loved by him. I will cherish our trip to Baltimore for an Orioles game. He was so thrilled I even asked him to go and from the smile on his face to the memories of that day, I will always cherish the time I had with Dave for the honor that it was.
I will never stop striving to me the man who he always knew I could be. I love you Dave, and you touched so many lives and live on in so many hearts that you will never really be gone. I pray for peace in the hearts of Judy, Jason, Josh, Stephanie and Emily.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in your loss of Dave. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He was such a special person. I will always remember the tremendous support that he gave me at Community Family Development when I had to handle personnel issues. He was always available to take my telephone calls. The information and advice that he provided was invaluable. I know how very important his family was to him. I feel for you all in his loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our family is saddened to learn of your loss....I had worked with Dave quite a while ago at Dutchess ARC in Amenia. Several year later I had the pleasure of meeting up with him again at the 4H guinea pig group where he lovingly brought his granddaughters. When our son's guinea pig had unexpected babies, Dave was to the rescue and brought them home. He was such a wonderful, thoughtful, gentle soul. May you hold dear all the loving memories to get you through this most difficult time.
