Obituary of William Johnson

Troy Johnson, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Regional Hospice and Home Care Center for Comfort Care and Healing in Danbury, Connecticut. He was 53. Son of William Floyd and Marjorie Evelyn Hall Johnson, he was born June 30, 1962 in Monticello, Utah and raised in Alaska. His parents survive in Colorado. Troy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1984. He was very proud of his service and extremely patriotic. Troy was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting and golfing. Troy was an active member of the board at Crystal Run Village Foundation in Middletown, New York. Troy most recently worked as a CIO for a medical facility in Poughkeepsie. He will be remembered for being there for everyone; dropping everything to help someone else out. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Joanie Johnson at home in Wappingers Falls; his children, Jacob Johnson and Gage Johnson both of Montgomery, Cristina Foutz and her husband, JT of Poughkeepsie and Steven DeSario of Wappingers Falls; his brother, Raymond Kent Johnson and his wife, Kristy of Arizona; his brother-in-law, Richard Martini and his wife, Maryann of Fishkill; his several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew. He will forever be "Papa" to his granddaughter, Elliana Foutz. Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 21 at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, in Hopewell Junction.
