I knew Cliff through the ASHRAE Bi-State chapter. I always enjoyed seeing Cliff at the meetings, he was always so warm and friendly. He surprised me one day when he told me he swam competitively and his main event was the 1,500-meter! At 77-years old, he was swimming competitively, and a 60-lap event! I was captain of my swim team in high school and I used to swim the 500-meter which took over 5-minutes and was exhausting. I am half Cliff's age and would be hard pressed to complete 1,500-meters in one hour at this point. I continue to be amazed at the physical feat of being 77+ and swimming the distances he did regularly. I figured that rolling stone would live forever. I wish I knew Cliff better but even being a mere acquaintance, I'm am sad to see him go.

Cliff was integral in our professional ASHRAE Society Chapter and Region. His attention to detail was impressive even among engineers. His smile, laugh, humble nature, and guiding hand will be missed by all. Condolences to his Family in this tough time.

Cliff was always a great spirit and a good friend to me, we worked together on many tasks in the Bi-State Chapter of ASHRAE. He has left his mark with many people in this work, me included! It was always my pleasure to know and work with him.

Dear Jane and Family:
Cliff was such a quiet humble man, and I was privileged to know him better when I worked at New Hackensack Reformed Church alongside his wife, Jane. Always on call any time of the day or night, Cliff had the ability to fix anything that went wrong at the church, and provided many other gifts of his time and talent.
His dedication to the family, especially his Grandchildren, was known to everyone as he would traipse to Sunday School after Worship, and holding the hand of Jordan or Eden, would bring them back to Coffee Hour, always lending assistance to whatever goodie they might enjoy.
He was truly a "Gentle Giant" and will be missed by all who loved and knew him. May the burden of your Bereavement by made lighter, knowing others are sharing the load.
Love, prayers, and blessings,
Carole & Dave DeWoody
