Obituary of Kathleen L. Albright

Kathleen Lyons Albright, 80, of Wappingers Falls, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022.

She was born in Hartford, CT on October 20, 1941. Kathleen graduated from Backus Hospital School of Nursing in 1962 and worked there for several years as a surgical nurse. In 1968 she met the love of her life, Martin E. Albright, and the two were wed on December 13, 1969.

Kathleen was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. She was heavily involved in the lives of her girls and supported them through every endeavor.  She volunteered her time to the Myers Corners Elementary School PTA and at Roy C. Ketcham High School, assisting in the Assistant Principal’s office or painting sets for Masque and Mime.  She never missed a concert, play, or award ceremony for her daughters or granddaughter.  Her family meant everything to her, especially her granddaughter, who was her pride and joy. 

When not volunteering at school, she spent time with her numerous friends.  Whether it was playing cards, going out for breakfast with the ladies, or spending time at Lake Oniad, her quick wit, generosity, and kindness were always on display.

Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, James and Kathleen Lyons.  She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Martin E. Albright; daughters, Susan L. Albright (Greg Grieco) and Patricia K. Albright (Robert Arndt); and granddaughter, Kathleen D. Peter.

Calling hours for Kathleen will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
