Obituary of Velda I. Todd

Velda I. Todd, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 83. Daughter of the late Clifford and Mildred Lester, she was born September 13, 1930 in Oneonta, New York. She married David A. Todd on June 25, 1988. Mr. Todd survives at home. Prior to her retirement, Velda worked as a Nurse's Aide at Hudson Haven in Wappingers Falls. Velda enjoyed flowers, playing cards and pets, especially her cats. She also treasured the time spent with her husband, Dave, and her children. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Joseph Sinisi of Westminster, Colorado, John Sinisi of Rosamond, California, Charles Jenkins of San Diego, California and Douglas Jenkins of Southport, Maine; her sisters, Vivian Sherow and Dorothy Merwin both of Davenport, New York; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David Jenkins and her brothers, Robert, Ronald and Raymond Lester. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at New Hackensack Cemetery, 1652 Route 376, Wappingers Falls.
