Obituary of Thomas E. Logan

Thomas E. Logan, Jr. Thomas E. Logan, Jr. died at home in Wappingers Falls on February 26, 2006. Son of the late Thomas E. (Ed) and Catherine Cumming Logan, he was born on August 1, 1926 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Growing up in Poughkeepsie, Tom attended Krieger School and Poughkeepsie High School, graduating in 1944. A World War II Veteran of the United States Navy, he attended Rochester University as a member of the Navy's V12 Officers Training Program. Subsequently, he attended Albany Law School and later graduated from New York Law School. He also served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. A customer's man with Merrill Lynch for many years, he was later employed as Assessor for the Town of Wappingers. After retiring in 1997, he served as Assessor for the City of Beacon. As another friend of Bill W., he was helpful to many. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Louise Kenney, whom he married on June 2, 1956 at St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie; his daughter, Kathryn Logan of Seattle, WA; his sons, Mark Logan and his wife, Kathleen of Hopewell Junction, Michael Logan and his wife, Joel of Pleasant Valley and Thomas P. Logan of Wappingers Falls; his grandsons, Rhys, Zane, Malachi and Michael Thomas Logan; granddaughters, Amy, Michelle and Danielle Cardillo; great-grandson, Michael Kaiser; his brother, John W. Logan and his wife, Gail of New Paltz; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson Street in Fishkill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tom's name to Hudson River Housing Overnight Shelter, 313 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 or Hospice of Dutchess County, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
