I'm not sure why I looked up Dr. Poloukhine on Google, but I saw something on TV that made me think of him. Dr. Poloukhine saved my father's life in 1976. My father was exhibiting strange symptoms, and we took him to St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn. They did tests and came running out with a diagnosis--a subdural hematoma that needed immediate surgery. It was the day before the big Bicentennial Celebration, but Dr. Poloukhine showed up for the surgery. I could go on and on with details, but all I know is that Dr. Poloukhine worked his magic, including that my dad be kept in the ICU so that he had adequate nursing coverage over the holiday weekend. The man was a genius--calm, honest, and a miracle worker. We only had the one interaction with Dr. Poloukhine, but it was one that left a lasting impression. I'm sure you heard from many of his patients, but I had to leave my expression of thanks as well.
God bless your family.
