Obituary of Robert C. Whalen

Robert C. Whalen Robert C. "Bobby" Whalen, a resident of Hopewell Junction, entered into rest unexpectedly at his home on May 13, 2006. He was 27. Son of James H. and Barbara Lombardi Whalen, he was born February 11, 1979 in North Tarrytown, New York. He graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School and attended SUNY Delhi, SUNY Oneonta and Dutchess Community College. Bobby was a recreation counselor at Arms Acres in Carmel. He attended Cursillo and DDA in Garrison. Bobby was a loving friend to all who knew him. Most importantly he was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin who will be truly missed by all. In addition to his parents, Barbara and Jim, he is survived by his brothers, Kevin and his wife, Kelly, Jimmy and Brian; his two nephews, Dylan and Jack; his aunts and uncles, David and Denise Lombardi, Lou Lombardi and Sally Hoffman, Michael and Nancy Lombardi, John and Pat DeRocha and Santa Coupe; his cousins, Michelle, Ashley, Craig and his wife, Maria and their son Austin as well as numerous cousins through out the Hudson Valley. Family will receive their friends on Monday, May 15, 2006 from 4-8 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
