Shirley Ann Niznik SHIRLEY ANN NIZNIK Shirley Ann Niznik of the Town of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest Saturday July 4, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie surrounded by her loving family. She was 75. Daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Nixon Hicks she was born December 30, 1933 in Poughkeepsie. Shirley worked as a draftsman artist and landscape architect. She went on to work as a health care provider and a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid in Poughkeepsie before retiring.. Shirley was a lifelong member of Zion Episcopal Church and a member of the Poughkeepsie Senior Citizens Group. She is survived by her daughter Debra L. Rittinger of Aurora, CO, her son Raymond H. Niznik of Thousand Oaks, CA, her sisters Nancy L. Hicks of Ithaca, NY and Susanne H. Frueh and her husband Forrest L. of Norman, OK, her nephews Dean Disenza and his wife Pamela Sloan of Rochester, NY and Ryan A. Disenza of Norman, OK, her grand nephew Peter S. Disenza and grand niece Clara S. Disenza . . A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday July 6, 2009 at Wappingers Rural Cemetery where interment will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
