Obituary of Mary T. Delisle

Mary DeLisle Mary DeLisle, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Thursday, August 6, 2009 at her home. She was 68. Daughter of the late Edmond and Dorothy Kemp Choroski, she was born May 2, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois. On December 27, 1959 she married Francis A. DeLisle in Wisconsin. Mr. DeLisle preceded her in death on June 25, 1999. Mary was a parishioner at St. Mary Mother of the Church, Fishkill and also a member of many senior organizations. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and reading. She also enjoyed her many bus trips. It is truly a gift when we meet people that forever impact our lives. Mary made her special mark among us - she freely gave of her generous heart by donating time, money, and help to others. People have described her as being like the "sunshine", and having a heart of gold, always ready to share, always welcoming. She believed that life is meant to be lived to the best of our abilities. We should remember her gift by living life to the fullest and helping others when we can. "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called."1 Timothy 6:12 Survivors include her children, Edward DeLisle and his wife, Marlene of Burlington, Vermont, Michele Murphy and her fianc�, Kurt Rudiger of Poughkeepsie and David DeLisle and his wife, Anne of Poughkeepsie; her brother, Edmond Choroski of Chicago, Illinois; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Francis, Corey, Tabitha, Nicholas and Patrick and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 10, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York 12590. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary's name to the American Heart Association, 301 Manchester Road, Suite 105, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
