Obituary of Joan Bracken

Joan Bracken Joan Bracken, a resident of Fishkill, entered into rest, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at her home. She was 77. Daughter of the late George and Irene Kelderhouse, she was born June 7, 1932 in Brooklyn . Joan was a mother, who cared deeply for her family. She enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting. Mrs. Bracken always had a line of "Whaley Lake Kids" wrapping around the house when she cooked her lasagna. She loved her "Whaley Lake Kids." Recently she traveled to Hawaii , a lifelong dream, where she was able to see the sights and take in the beauty of the waterfalls. She is survived by her five children, Michael Bracken of Glendale, Arizona, Elizabeth Bracken-Mago of Whaley Lake, Marie Mitchell of Phoenix, Arizona, Annie Harris of Bolder City, Navada and Theresa Pierson of Fishkill with whom she made her home with her son-in-law, Scott David and grandson, Scott-Christopher. She is also survived by her sister and brother Barbara and Bruce Kelderhouse; her ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street , Wappingers Falls . Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls . Arrangements are under the direction of Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street , Wappingers Falls .
