Joseph J. Isole, Jr.

Joseph J. Isole, Jr., a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Elant at Wappingers Falls. He was 84.

Son of the late Joseph and Rose Barone Isole, Sr., he was born June 22, 1925 in Pelham, New York. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He married the love of his life, the former Rose Bayer in 1951 in Pelham. Mrs. Isole survives at home.

He worked for IBM where he was Director of Design Practices when he retired in 1990 after thirty-five years. Joseph was a parishioner of St. Martin de Porres Church in Poughkeepsie. He was a member of the IEEE and also enjoyed computer building. While attending school he worked as a mechanic which led to his lifelong enjoyment of working on cars; especially his 1939 DeSoto.

In addition to his wife, Rose Isole of Poughkeepsie, he is survived by his children, Mark Isole of Pelham and Thomas Isole of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his sister, Teresa Callahan of Pelham and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Ralph Isole.

Family will receive friends on Monday, June 21, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22 at St. Martin de Porres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
