Dear Marjorie and family:
Please accept our most sincere condolences. Doug was always kind to us. I still have fond memories of the end of the year parties you and Doug always had for the entire science department, allowing us time for fellowship, good food and a view of your always impressive garden. He never forgot anyone with his faithful Christmas cards, reminding us of the birth of our Lord, where he is now being comforted for eternity. We pray for God's peace to also comfort you and your family at this time.
Peace xox Carol and Rich Marchell

Please accept my most sincere condolences on the passing of your loved one and someone whom I considered a mentor during my "rookie" years as a Department Head in the WCSD. I have often thought of Doug since my own retirement to Washington State, as I recalled those days of turmoil but also reward in the District. One of the rewards was working with quality people like Doug who were always willing to help. God Bless you during this difficulat time and always.

Dear Marge & Family, I was saddened to hear that Doug had passed away. Although we have been infrequently in touch I have always considered you guys as part of my extended family. I am reminded of my wedding when Doug was overheard in line for dessert commenting on our choice of country music being played. It still makes me smile. All of our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time of loss. Melinda, Sal, & Sophia Benanti

Dear Marj and family,
I was saddened to hear of Doug's passing. He was a great department head--always there on the scheduled day, standing with a smile and nod at the classroom doorway-not interupting but available if we needed him. And smilingly tolerating our pranks with chemicals and orders.
Hopefully everyone's prayers and thoughts will be a comfort to you.
Sincerely, Bev Nostro

Dear Marjorie and Family,
I was reading the Poughkeepsie Journal this morning on line and saw Mr. Deppe's obituary. Even after 56 years I still refer to him as Mr. He was one of the great teachers we had in Wappingers and I have some fine memories of being in his classes. Living in Florida we do not visit Wappingers often, but we did last year for our 55 high school re-union and he was a topic of discussion when we dicussed great teachers that we all remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Jack Mc Closkey, Class of 1949.
