Douglas M. Deppe



Douglas M. Deppe of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Sunday, September 25, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 87.



Son of the late Frederick and Edna Drinnan Deppe, he was born on September 8, 1918 in Richmond, Staten Island. He wed Marjorie Scofield on June 30, 1946 at the United Methodist Church of Wappingers Falls. They remained happily married for almost 60 years.



Mr. Deppe attended many local schools, receiving an Administration Degree from New Paltz and a Master's Degree from Columbia University. He then went on to work as a teacher and administrator for the Wappingers Central School District for many years.



Douglas leaves behind his wife, Marjorie at home; his sons, Alan Douglas Deppe and his wife, Cindy of Wooster, Ohio and James K. Deppe of Bristol, Connecticut; his daughter, Lois Edna Stevens and her husband, David of Eugene, Oregon; and his grandchildren, Joseph and Caitlin.



A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 27 at 1 p.m. at Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Route 9D in Wappingers Falls with Pastor Marlow Dunham presiding.



In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Douglas' name to a charity of one's choice.
