Obituary of Penny Elizabeth O'Kane

Penny Elizabeth O'Kane Penny Elizabeth O'Kane of Wappingers Falls entered into rest on Monday, January 9, 2006 at Brandywine Nursing Home in Briarcliff Manor at the age of 43; she has been a patient at the nursing home since 1984 as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident which claimed the life of her brother, John J. O'Kane on January 11, 1984. Daughter of Brian J. O'Kane of Durham, North Carolina and Jill O'Kane of Little River, South Carolina, she was born on October 18, 1962 in Lowell, Massachusetts. Before her accident, she was a senior at Syracuse University where she acted as a Resident Advisor and participated in track. She also graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School in 1980, where she participated in track and the band and jazz ensemble. Besides her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Daina O'Kane of Houston, Texas and Kathy Jasper of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her brother, Marc O'Kane of Charlotte, North Carolina; two nephews, Tommy Farmer O'Kane and Matthew Jasper; and one niece, Nicole Jasper. Family will receive their friends on Sunday, January 15, 2006 from 6-8 pm at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, January 16 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery in Fishkill.
